The opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring the organisation’s continued strength and sustainability. This is a key role within North Star’s senior leadership team, responsible for delivering excellent financial management, governance, and regulatory compliance while contributing to North Star’s broader strategic goals.

The role is central to shaping North Star’s future through robust financial stewardship, supporting new developments, maintaining high-performance standards, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

You

You will be an experienced, CCAB qualified accountant with a proven record of finance leadership in the housing sector, a related regulated sector (NHS, Local Government or Higher Education) or a senior audit manager with not-for-profit experience in a Big 4 (or top 20 Firm). You will be able to evidence experience of providing leadership and direction coupled with a passion for continuous improvement. To succeed in the role, you will have to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders alongside maintaining effective governance and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in strategic financial planning, risk management, and governance will be matched by your ability to inspire and lead teams.
